Kimberly Butler

My husband, Scott Butler, and I have been living in North Alabama our entire lives, and in the Shoals Area for all but 2 of those years. We are TRUE North Alabama natives! We are currently raising our 2 wonderful children and running our photography business in Florence, AL.

We have been running a successful photography studio in Florence, AL since 1997. If you know anything about the photography business, this is NO SMALL FEAT. We are one of only 2 studios in the entire Shoals Area that have been in business for more than 20 years!

In that time, our studio has won many international, national, state, and local awards. We have always sought to better our service to our clients by bettering who we are.

There are 3 main reasons we have been so successful:

First, we are hard workers. We know what it means to put in a day's work, and we do it, often 7 days per week.

Second, we are financially responsible. When sales are low, or costs go up, we know how to make hard decisions to make sure we make the budget. Our income, as well as our employees' incomes, rely on this fiscal responsibility every week.

Third, and most importantly, we are blessed by God. We know that all good gifts come from above and we would not be where we are today without His blessings.

If running a business has taught me anything, being a home school mom has taught me so much more! I have learned history, government, finances, time management, and life skills that I NEVER learned in school. Teaching my children and molding them to be amazing adults has been the greatest blessing of my life. My goal when I made the decision to teach my children at home was not only to give them a good "scholastic" education, but even more so, to teach them to be good humans, to love God, and to love others as they love themselves, to be financially responsible, and be hard workers.

Currently, we have one beautiful daughter who has started her own business for the purpose of improving the mental health of others. She is in college on a leadership scholarship. We have a brilliant son who is starting his senior year. He plans to attend UAH on an academic scholarship, pursuing a chemical engineering degree.

It has been a beautiful journey, and of everything that I have accomplished in my life, this is what I am most proud of: my children!
