Kerri Page Parker
General Information
Kerri has spent the majority of her legal career providing legal services for those in our community who have been underserved, abused, neglected or who don’t have the financial means to retain an attorney to represent their interests.
Kerri began her legal career representing employees who alleged discrimination by their employer. After more than two years of providing legal services for employees, she transitioned to her own law firm and began a general civil practice representing clients in child support, divorce, employment discrimination, bankruptcy, wills, estates, guardianships, conservatorships, landlord-tenant issues, contracts and other general civil matters. From 2003 to 2005, she transitioned to serving the needs of the citizens of the Seventh Congressional District working as Regional Outreach Director for the Congressman in that district. In this position, she planned and executed programs targeted at meeting the specific needs of the citizens of the district.
In 2005, Kerri moved to Colorado and, after passing yet another bar exam, she briefly opened her own law firm before joining the Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center, a nonprofit law firm that focused on representing the rights of abused and neglected children in Colorado. After returning to Alabama, she joined the YWCA of Central Alabama as a Staff Attorney representing victims of domestic violence in domestic relations matters. Currently, Kerri serves as a Staff Attorney with the Legal Aid Society of Birmingham representing the best interests of children who have been subjected to abuse or neglect.
Kerri has served on a number of boards including the Legal Aid Society of Birmingham, the Boys and Girls Club of Central Alabama and My Father’s House Foundation. She has also maintained active membership in the Magic City Bar Association where she has served as a Past President and is currently on the Board of Directors. She has also maintained active membership in the Birmingham Bar Association where she previously served on the Lawyer Referral Committee, Scholarship Committee and Newsletter Committee. She has volunteered at Project Homeless Connect and Habit For Humanity. In 2019, Kerri was awarded the Gail K. Johnson Outstanding Attorney Award by the National BLSA Chapter of The University of Alabama School of Law for her unrelenting dedication and incredible service to bettering Alabama’s minority communities.
Kerri was born and raised in Bessemer, AL. She is the youngest of 10 children born to William & Louvenia Page. She was educated in the Jefferson County School system, attending Lipscomb Jr. High School and Shades Valley High School. She earned her B.S. Degree at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and her J.D. at The University of Alabama School of Law. Kerri grew up a faithful and active member of Fifth Avenue Bethel Baptist Church. Later, she joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Brighton where she continued to be active in the church. She and her daughters are currently members of The Worship Center Christian Church.
