Ken “Chief” Bailey

Ken Bailey was born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1965. He and his wife, Cindy, have lived in Shelby County for over twenty years. Ken and Cindy were married in 1985. They have three grown children and five grandchildren. He is a member of Valleydale Baptist Church and trusts in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He is a member of Gun Owners of America and Bama Carry. He believes in Constitutional Carry.

Ken started his career of protecting, defending, and serving when he joined the United States Air Force in 1987. He served as an Air Crew Member on the C-130, C-5, and 707 aircraft in missions such as Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and Homeland Security. His last tour of duty was at the Joint Interagency Task Force South at Key West Naval Air Station where he worked with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigations, Central Intelligence Agency, Customs & Border Protection, and Immigration & Customs Enforcement. During this tour, he was able to stop 87,992 kilos of cocaine valued at 1.8 trillion dollars and 17,934 pounds of marijuana valued at 17 million dollars from reaching the streets of America.

He has served locally in law enforcement since 2005 and has worked hard every day thereafter to keep families safe in their homes, neighborhoods, churches, and businesses. It is his passion to keep our communities safe and he takes his job of protecting and serving very seriously. He has over 41 years combined military and law enforcement experience. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Homeland Security and Public Safety with a Concentration in Criminal Justice at Herzing University. He also earned an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement from Jefferson State Community College and an Associate of Science Degree in Aviation Operations from The Community College of the Air Force.
