Bill Summary
Under existing law, health care authorities organized under the Health Care Authorities Act of 1982 are local governmental entities organized as political subdivisions of the state to provide hospital and health care services to local communities
This bill would require the active outside medical staff having hospital privileges to practice medicine at a hospital operated by a health care authority to approve any exclusive contract for group physician services or any decision to close any existing medical staff department at the hospital
Relating to hospitals operated by public health care authorities; to amend Section 22-21-318 of the Code of Alabama 1975, to require the active outside medical staff having hospital privileges to practice medicine at a hospital operated by a health care authority to approve any exclusive contract for group physician services or any decision to close any existing medical staff department at the hospital.
