Bill Summary
This bill would propose a local constitutional amendment relating to Lawrence County to provide that all allowances or amounts received by the Sheriff of Lawrence County for feeding prisoners would be deposited in a special account and used for feeding prisoners in the county jail and any excess would be authorized to be used by the sheriff for law enforcement purposes. The amendment would also provide that the sheriff would receive the same salary as the Judge of Probate of Lawrence County
To propose an amendment to the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, relating to Lawrence County, to provide that all allowances received by the sheriff for feeding prisoners would be deposited in a special account and used for feeding of prisoners in the county jail and that any excess in the fund would be authorized to be used for law enforcement purposes; and to provide that the sheriff would receive the same salary as the judge of probate.
