Title
Resisting arrest, arrest only if perpetrator is concurrently arrested for a separate unrelated crime, Sec. 13A-10-41 am'd.
Description
Under existing law, a person commits the crime of resisting arrest if he or she intentionally prevents or attempts to prevent the lawful arrest of himself or herself or of another person
This bill would prohibit the arrest of a person for the crime of resisting arrest unless the law enforcement officer is concurrently arresting the person for a separate, unrelated crime
Relating to the crime of resisting arrest; to amend Section 13A-10-41, Code of Alabama 1975, to prohibit the arrest of a person for the crime of resisting arrest unless the law enforcement officer is concurrently arresting the person for a separate, unrelated crime.
