Bill Summary
Under existing law, tinted windows on a motor vehicle must meet certain specifications unless the owner or passenger of the motor vehicle has obtained an exemption from the Department of Public Safety
This bill would provide that an exemption on behalf of a patient diagnosed with a light-sensitive porphyria would apply to all areas of the windshield and windows prescribed by the physician
To amend Section 32-5C-4, Code of Alabama 1975, relating to medical exemptions from the window tinting law; to provide that the exemption applies to the top six inches of a motor vehicle windshield unless otherwise prescribed by the department or by a physician requesting the medical exemption on behalf of a patient diagnosed with a light-sensitive porphyria.
