Bill Summary
Under existing law, a person who is 17 years of age or older may donate blood in a voluntary and noncompensatory blood donation program without the permission of a parent or guardian
This bill would authorize a person who is 18 years of age or older to consent to donate blood without the permission of a parent or guardian and would specify that consent is not subject to later disaffirmance because of minority
This bill would also repeal a nonconforming law
To amend Section 26-1-3.1, Code of Alabama 1975, to authorize persons age 18 years of age or older to consent to donate blood without the permission of a parent or guardian; to provide that consent is not subject to later disaffirmance; and to repeal Section 26-1-3, Code of Alabama 1975.
