Title
Workers' compensation, coverage exemption filed only with carrier, limited liability company added, Sec. 25-5-50 am'd.
Description
Under existing law, a corporate officer may annually elect to be exempt from coverage under the Alabama Workers' Compensation Act by filing a written certification of that election with the Department of Labor and the employer's insurance carrier
This bill would remove the requirement for the certification to be filed with the Department of Labor and would add a member of a limited liability company to the persons who may file for exemptions
To amend Section 25-5-50, Code of Alabama 1975, relating to exemption of workers' compensation coverage; to remove the requirement for the filing with the Department of Labor and to add a limited liability company to the exemption; and to provide an effective date.
