Bill Summary
Under existing law, there is no separate classification for persons who are initially employed as state troopers
This bill would require the Director of the Department of Public Safety to establish a classification of Trooper First Class for persons who are initially employed as state troopers and establish a pay scale for the classification
This bill would allow the State of Alabama to recover the cost of educating and training persons for employment as law enforcement officers
Relating to the Department of Public Safety; to require the Director of the Department of Public Safety and the Alabama State Personnel Department to establish a classification of Trooper First Class for persons who are initially employed as state troopers by the department and establish a pay scale for the classification; and to allow the State of Alabama to recover the costs for educating and training employees for initial employment who remain employed less than a certain period of time.
