Bill Summary
This bill would relate to land use development near military installations in close proximity to local governments
This bill would encourage compatible land use, help prevent incompatible urban encroachment upon military installations, and facilitate the continued presence of major military installations within the state by requiring the notification of certain military installations of certain land use changes by local governments, and allowing the military installations an opportunity to comment on the proposed land use changes
This bill would provide for references to military installations in master plans adopted by municipal planning commissions
Relating to land use near military reservations; to add a new Chapter 106 to Title 11 of the Code of Alabama 1975, to require local governments to notify certain military installations of certain proposed land use changes; to provide certain military installations an opportunity to comment on certain proposed land use changes; and to amend Section 11-52-8, Code of Alabama 1975, to provide for references to military installations in master plans adopted by municipal planning commissions.
