Bill Summary
Under existing law, a food service establishment must provide the name and country of origin of all food products containing catfish
Under existing law, the notification of the country of origin may be made by listing the country of origin on the menu or by using a sign or table top display meeting certain specifications as to size of the sign and the print on the sign
This bill would also require food service establishments to list the country of origin of food products containing fish products of the Order of Siluriformes. This bill would also delete the provision authorizing the country of origin to be listed on a sign or table top display meeting certain specifications
To amend Section 22-20A-31, Code of Alabama 1975, relating to advertising by food service establishments of certain products containing catfish; to require a food service establishment to identify the country of origin of food products containing fish products of the Order of Siluriformes; and to provide further for the manner of notification of the country of origin.
