Bill Summary
Under existing law, a person may qualify for an insurance premium reduction if the person is 55 years of age or older and completes a motor vehicle accident prevention course that consists of not less than eight classroom hours of instruction and is sponsored by the National Safety Council, the American Automobile Association or the AARP, or is an equivalent program approved by the Department of Public Safety
This bill would reduce the number of hours of instruction and would allow online instruction
To amend Section 27-13-121 of the Code of Alabama 1975, relating to motor vehicle insurance, to provide for a reduction in the number of hours of instruction required to complete a motor vehicle accident prevention course; and to allow online instruction.
